The 4th of July patriotic Americana movies:

Yadayada they're all Americana themed or on July 4th or close to it... here we go:

2 - Jaws (1975) - It takes place on the 4th of July. A brilliant film with perfect dialog. If you can, watch it at the beach house. If you don't have a beach house, try the backyard baby pool. Either way, it's excellent. "Tomorrow's the 4th of July, and it's going to be one of the best... those beaches will be open."

12 - A League of Their Own (1992). Maybe there's no crying in baseball, but what's more American than Madonna, Baseball and Apple Pie?

14 - An American Tail (1986) An award-winning animated feature about seeking the American dream.

15 - Uncle Sam (1996) Only for the horror fans who can handle a vet coming back from the dead. It won't play in Peoria, but it might play in your living room.

(This post was longer and more detailed but got blasted by hitting one wrong key. Yep, one accidental key can destroy a post.  Welcome to the internet, ha! We had to reassemble it from memory, so here's what we could put back together. - Sorry)

That's all we could put together from memory. Enjoy your picnic.

Those are the best 4th of July movies (we think) for your Independence Day Movie Marathon. Have a good one and don't get burned on the bottle rockets. We got what we could, missed a few... but that's the internet. It misses a lot.
