Sometimes rock songs or pop songs slip in some spirituality without us even knowing it. They may even top the charts without anyone really listening to the lyrics or catching the Christian theme.
These are Christian themed songs by popular rock and pop band, in some cases hard rock, who reached the Top 40 charts, bands not considered to be Christian.
- Hold On by Kansas, from Audio Visions. Kerry Livgren, Kansas' main songwriter became a Christian during his stay with the band. This song is Christian-themed, as are several of his other songs, including Miracles Out of Nowhere from the multi-platinum Leftoverterue album. "Who do you turn to in need when nobody's there...."
- Where the Streets Have No Name by U2, the biggest hit on the list and I bet most of you didn't know it's a Christian rock song.
- Jesus by Queen, from their debut album.
- The Lord's Prayer by Sister Janet Meade, a hugely popular #1 hit in 1974. Love the funky beat.
- Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel
- Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton
- Kyrie by Mister Mister, a big 80s hit.
- Keep the Faith by Bon Jovi
- Something in the Water by Carrie Underwood

- Cemetery Gates by Pantera
