Twilight Saga Songs for an Alternate Soundtrack

Top rock songs for the twilight movie series, from New Moon, Eclipse to Breaking Dawn.

The Twilight movies are an inexplicable phenomenon. We don't know why they're popular, but we do know they lack a good soundtrack. So I thought we might visit a list of top songs for the cast and crew of Twilight, the Wolf Pack, Vampire squad, et al. I personally think Bella Swan, Edward Cullen & Co are growing "long in the tooth" (no pun intended) but that doesn't mean they don't deserve to have their songs listed. These songs would have made a better Twilight soundtrack: the top 10 songs for the Twilight peeps, werewolves, vampires and cronies.

10 - Bat out of Hell by Meatloaf. Jim Steinman and Meatloaf could do an entire Twilight musical; so we let them start the list with this late 70s anthem.

9 - Love Bites by Def Leppard, one of their best power ballads of our time.

8 - Bloodletting (the Vampire Song) by Concrete Blonde

7 - Crystal Ball byStyx for Alice Cullen. She can see the future, sometimes.

6 - The Zoo by the Scorpions. This song should have run in the opening and closing credits.

5 - Doctor, Doctor by UFO. This tune can be sent out to Dr. Carlisle Cullen.

4 - Bark at the Moon by Ozzie Osbourne for Jacob Black, when he's at his most interesting. And that isn't really that often.

tie/4 - Running with the Pack by Bad Company

3 - Dreams by Fleetwood Mac. Stevie Nicks would make a better Mrs. Cullen, don't you agree?

2 - Poison by Alice Cooper The ultimate song of dangerous love. Kiss, but don't bite.
I wanna love you, but I better not touch ...

1 - Hungry Like the Wolf by Duran Duran. Our top Twilight song is for the Wolf Pack. One of the quintessential songs from the 80s, this tune howls for a another listen. Put it on your Twilight mix-cd and spin the volume dial. Play only at midnight on the full moon, or first quarter.

For the whole series, we can dedicate the 80s hit "Book of Love" by ABC, since these movies/books are really just romance novels laced with blood. I need more bite to my horror, so I'm as well drawn into these books.

As I said, I'm tired of the series, so let's play one more tune for Stephanie Meyer: Bad Romance by Lady Gaga. This was all meant in fun, no harm intended; so go make your mix CD or MP3 list to play along as the enhanced soundtrack to your Twilight DVD. We fade out to Pink Floyd's "Eclipse."

Will there be more Twilight movies, or has the pack moved on? Time will tell.
